Homecoming Build Competition (Deadline - October 20th)
Part 1: Model Home Build
Building guidelines: The home should be a 3D model/interpretation of a Habitat for Humanity home that should include at least four walls and a roof. Build the house out of the material(s) of your choosing. Be creative! Ideas include paper mache, LEGOs, sticks and leaves, cardboard, lumber, popsicle sticks, gingerbread, fabric...anything you can think of! The house must be built from scratch and must be bigger than 8x8 inches but smaller than 12x12 inches.
Part 2: Social Media and Fundraising
1. Post a picture of your home on Instagram and/or Facebook
2. Tag @appbuildsahome
3. Include this in your caption... "App Builds a Home is a partnership between App State and Watauga County Habitat for Humanity to build Habitat homes with local families. Help us raise funds for the third home by donating via Venmo (@wataugahabitat).
The deadline for completion of build and social media posts is October 20th, 2021. If you would like to have your home displayed in the Student Union the week of Homecoming, please bring it to the Campus Activities Office by 5pm on October 22nd so it can be featured in the Haunted Village.

Shed Some Love (September 30th - October 2nd)
Each Habitat family in Watauga County receives a storage shed to go along with their home. Join us at the ABAH Shed Some Love event to help make this happen! Volunteers are invited to register for shifts as individuals here. If you are part of a club or organization that would like to volunteer together, please list your group as an affiliated organization and we will do our best to schedule them together. This event will be on campus in the Legends parking lot and no construction experience is required to volunteer.
Year 3 Kick-Off Meeting! (September 7th, 5pm)
Join us on Tuesday, September 7th at 5pm in Belk Library room 114 for our Year 3 Kick-Off Meeting. Learn about the third ABAH partner family, student leadership positions, and other ways that you can help to build more affordable housing in the community. Masks are required at this event.
Walls-Up Build Week (April 2021)
It's Walls Up for Sheila's home April 19th-22nd! Gather a team and join ABAH in the Peacock Parking Lot to build the walls for Sheila's home! We will be accepting teams of 4-5 volunteers. Each team will choose a time slot from 9am-noon or 1-4pm on their designated day. No construction experience is necessary.
All COVID-19 protocols will be followed at this event, including mandatory masks and social distancing.

Women Build Trivia Night! (March 10th, 6:30-7:30)
Since 1991, Women Build volunteers from all walks of life have come together to build stronger, safer communities. Register your team for the App Builds a Home Women Build Trivia Night! No registration fee. Just join us for an evening of online fun.
The 3 rounds of trivia topics include Habitat for Humanity & App Builds a Home, Appalachian State University, and Influential Women in History. This event will be held online via Zoom and you will receive more information after registering your team! Email email@example.com with any questions.

App Builds a Home Benefit Showcase (November 2020)
The Appalachian Glee Club and the Rho Tau Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha will be hosting a pre-recorded livestream to benefit the efforts of App Builds a Home. During the livestream you will be able to make a donation to ABAH. Watch the concert here on November 19th at 7PM!
Homecoming Letter Writing Campaign (October 2020)
You and your organizations can earn Homecoming points by sending emails! The email template can be found here! Be sure to copy appbuildsahome.appstate.edu and include your club name in the email to be awarded your points! Emails must be sent by next Wednesday, October 21st!
Barker Family Home Dedication (May 30th 2020)
